San Miguel De TucumanSan Miguel de Tucumán is the capital city and heart of Tucumán Province . Popularly known as "El JardĂn de la RepĂşblica " (The garden of the Republic) because in springtime there are flowers everywhere - in the parks, balconies, streets and gardens, the city is situated in the northeast of Argentina at 447 m above sea level. Regarding topography, there are almost all existing landscapes ranging from high mountains to plains and including woods, forests, scrubs, fertile plains and even desert areas. QuilmesI t is 9 miles ( 15 km ) away from Amaicha del Valle and 113 miles ( 182 km ) from San Miguel de Tucumán ; it is 6,598 ft . ( 1,978 m ) above sea level. The old city of Quilmes , which sheltered a large Indian population (it is considered the largest pre-Hispanic human settlement of Argentina ), rose there. Today, its ruins, which were restored and completed with a museum where traces of that culture can be seen, are found there. |
