The Anavilhanas Lodge was constructed with sustainability and preservation in mind. It is located by the Anavilhanas National Park, on the banks of Rio Negro, about 180km from Manaus. The lodge offers walking trails, jungle night treks, survival tours, bird watching tours and boat tours.

The equally sustainably built Uakari Lodge, is situated about 1.5 hours away from the small town of Tefe (on speed boat). It is comprised of 5 cabins that off a tributary of the Solimoes River, which makes it an ideal place to observe the local wildlife.

Amazon Lodge 3 nights includes

Accommodation:

  • 3 nights at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge. Constructed using only green certified construction material, this lodge offers a swimming pool, restaurant, lake, fitness facilities, library, handicraft store and has its own pure mineral water source.

Tours:

  • Jungle night trek looking for giant spiders and fluorescent fungus.
  • Jungle treks to see flora and fauna with demonstrations of survivial techniques.
  • Full day Forest Trip with emphasis on eco trip.
  • Full Day Amazon River Trip to view the meeting of the Amazon River and the Rio Negro.

Uakari Lodge 4 nights includes

Accommodation:

  • The Uakari Lodgeis comprised of 5 floating cabins off a tributary of the Solimoes River. The Lodge was designed for minimum environmental impact and is located inside the Mamiraua Reserve, the largest existing block of protected Amazonian rainforest.

Tours:

  • Walking trails through the flooded forest (during the rainy season only boat trips are possible).
  • Native Indian Harpoon fishing.
  • Trip to Lake Mamiraua in motorized canoe to see a variety of wildlife.
  • Paddling trips in dugout canoes to see birdlife and fauna.
  • Trip to visit a local riverine “Caboclo” village.

Day 6 – Manaus
After breakfast on your last day, you will be taken on a speed boat back to Tefe and will then be driven to the airport to catch a flight to Manaus.

Amazon Jungle Lodge Options

This package is specific for the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge and the Uacari Jungle Lodge.

Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is located 110 km northwest of Manaus. The Lodge is right across from the world’s largest river archipelago, bathed by the Rio Negro waters and cut by Pato and Monteiro riverbanks.

The hotel can be reached by land or by water, and all transport is based on the city of Novo Airão. From Manaus, after crossing the majestic Rio Negro in one of the regular ferry boats, you will take a comfortable van across a road that stretches 180km into the woods and leads to the small town of Novo Airão. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the town sailing down the Rio Negro, and the access is not affected by the yearly droughts in the region. Transport takes an average of 3:15 hours and is coordinated by the hotel.

The Lodge has two types of extremely comfortable suites: 16 exclusive suites in combined cottages or 4 premium individual bungalows immersed in the woods.
The rooms and bungalows are equipped with box beds, silent air conditioning, hot showers, hair dryers, minibar, and an inviting private balcony in each suite.

Uakari Jungle Lodge
The Uakari Lodge is situated off a tributary of the River Solimoes, one hour by speedboat from the town of Tefe. Tefe is a little city, 1 hour by commercial airline southwest from Manaus.
The Uakari Lodge is a component of the Mamiraua Institute, whose mission is to conserve the biodiversity of the Mamiraua Reserve with participatory management. All of the income generated from the Mamiraua Ecotourism Project is reinvested in order to maintain this pioneer conservation project, the only one of its kind in the world.

Mamiraua is the largest protected area of flooded forest in the Amazon offering unique scenery and experiences.

The 5 floating cabins of the Uakari Lodge are strategically located so that it is an ideal place to observe wildlife without leaving the premises. This lodge offers a series of activities including canoe and boat excursions with local guides in river channels and lakes, and walking trails in the rainforest.

The Uakari is a Sustainable Tourism Ecolodge, which provides educational and economical support to several small communities in the surrounding area. Most employees are Caboclos or local natives who are learning a specific trade. Services offered at the Uakari Jungle Lodge are designed to allow the Caboclos to improve their lives while offering visitors a more natural environment. Therefore, some services offered may not be at international hotel standards
